A different way to view a tree
Years pass from one to the next. Just like a tree, we grow, bloom, parts of us may die off, while other areas sprout new branches.
Each year, like the tree, we add a ring, we form knots and even get gnarly in spots.
Life. It's a flow (it's also a wild wildebeest at times)
And until we transition to the non-physical, life keeps moving us forward, often without us having to do anything to force it.
We do often force it, don't we?
There are things we want. Goals we set. People, places and situations that we are willing to fight for, sometimes to the bitter end. Holding onto things which may have run their course.
Here's the thing...
If we are able to release the things that no longer serve us, things that we are ready to let go of, we make room for more flow to come into our lives. We don't have to make it happen, it just does. Love grows in spaces where there was anger, joy blooms from the ashes of sorrow and life moves along.
This tree is an awesome metaphor for this allowing.
It's roots grow deep and grounded. The tree soaks up the sun and water from the rains. It weathers the storms and sways in the breeze. Growing without resistance.
As this year end approaches, it is a good time for each of us to look at what we can release.
Here are some things to think about:
Who and what in your life nourishes you? (always start with the positive!)
Who and what in your life drains you?
What can be left at the doorway between 2019 and 2020 so that you are not carrying extra unnecessary baggage with you into the new year?
