How do you carve out a few moments of peace?
For me, these days have felt like the wildest rollercoaster ride of emotions.
One moment I’m feeling high flying, the next I’m feeling my body, mind and spirit cresting the hill. I can sense the momentum picking up. The plummet about to happen.
Here’s the thing, in those moments I can choose how I experience the ride. Do I want to hold on for dear life or let go, raising my hands over my head?
When I’m able to release the resistance and let life flow, I can enjoy the ride just a little more.
This doesn’t mean the ride will feel easy or less scary, but it does give me the opportunity to tune in, be in the moment, and sometimes even let out a laugh or two.
I also know in those moments that I can intentionally find things that feel more peaceful.
A chat with a friend.
Snuggling with my dog.
When I’m able to access the self-care “tools” that are available to me, I’m more likely to be in these moments of fear, uncertainly, and doubt in a more loving way. Towards myself and others.
Then I can tune in deeper to my inner-knowing and allow the guidance, grounding and peace to flow.
